Cosmetic Nail Restoration

Nail Restoration is a painless application that restores the appearance of an individual’s natural nails.

It allows our Podiatry Assistant to remodel your damaged nails affected by fungus, defects or trauma. The acrylic creates a flexible, but durable, non-porous nail that allows the remaining natural nail to grow. It provides an immediate cosmetic improvement providing a natural-looking nail. It is unaffected by acetone, nail polishes or detergents.

Nail Restoration is a cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of toenails damaged by fungus and other nail disorders. It is not intended to cure nail disease.

Ideal candidates have mild to moderate impairment caused by:

Nail fungus

Nail shape changes due to injury

Spoon shaped nails

Brittle and splitting nails

Horizontal ridges

Discoloured nails

The interval between applications will vary according to the individual, but in general, the time between applications is 6 to 8 weeks.

Rarely, a reconstructed nail may detach from the natural nail. This can occur with repeated trauma eg. with long-distance running, when individual has a small natural nail segment or the nail edge has extended beyond the tip of the toe.

Nail Reconstruction becomes permanently bonded to the natural nail.

Nail reconstructions should be filed with a nail file or emery board to maintain a normal length. It should NOT be cut or clipped.  To remove the nail, our Podiatry Assistant can file the artificial nail utilizing an electric drill until it is no longer attached to the natural nail.

How Much Does Nail Reconstruction Cost?

The cost is dependent on the number of toenails you need restored. The first toenail is $100, additional nails during the same session are $60.

The key part of any nail treatment is addressing problems with the natural nail, but this procedure can be the perfect solution while managing a nail treatment. Have the end results now, when you want them most!
